Approach
How your past shapes the person you are today
My approach is largely rooted in psycho-dynamic psychology, meaning we explore your current concerns with an understanding that this moment is also informed by a lifetime of relationships, experiences, and circumstances. We look at the situations, feelings, and patterns in your life you want to change while also addressing the underlying, less visible parts of your experience.
My therapeutic perspective is largely rooted in psycho-dynamic psychology, meaning we explore your current concerns with an understanding that this moment is also informed by a lifetime of relationships, experiences, and circumstances. Together we pay close attention to the here and now alongside any underlying thoughts and emotions that might be interfering with or undermining your efforts to change and grow.
Our sessions begin with conversations about your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. We pay attention to your inner life--what's familiar and what might you discover that's new. I also include mindfulness and somatic (body) practices to pay attention to your feelings and experiences in this moment, helping to deepen awareness which can provide valuable insights and opportunities for growth.
No one can tell you exactly what your therapy will look like or how long it will take to feel better. It can be hard work. With a therapist you trust you don't have to face these challenges alone. Together we create room for self awareness, discovery, and change.
